Building a Wallclock – Episode 7 – with Paul Sellers

In this episode Paul shows how to make a cove with a gouge and apply it to your clock. This makes up part of the optional decoration for the bottom of the clock. There is only one more episode after this one. We are nearly finished with the clock project!

  1. I got here via the Wranglerstar channel. What a revelation!!! The main
thing I’m taking away, thus far, is that I need to go to the markets and
get me some hand tools! I’ve got some of my grandfather’s tools but I
need a couple more. Much better than electrical equipment (I’m not doing
industrial scale stuff!!) and these are the same sort of tools I used in
wood shop as a young bloke. Thank you so much for sharing.

  2. What will you use to fill the gap at the base of that molding? Very
interesting and enjoyable to watch you make those coves and miters with
hand tools. Excellent cutting along your line with your handsaw while
keeping the angle and on the line! A talent I need to practice. Thanks for
    sharing.

  3. Im sorry but I have such a hard time hearing you Paul. Partly me but every
volume is maxed out and I still have to be inches from the speaker. Could
you be a little louder? Thank you, I don’t want to be a pain but I am
interested in what you have to say.

  4. Very instructive video.
It was nice to see how the strips. Have once with a planer shape and then
    made with a gouge.
I look forward to the continuation of this video series. 🙂

I think Paul just got a whole avalanche of subs via Wranglerstar! This guy
is a true master, I have watched all his videos and have learned so much.
I also suggest checking out his blog. God bless you Paul Sellers for
    sharing your knowledge.

  6. What about putting a slightly longer length of the ‘broom handle’ inside
the cove for helping to hold workpiece for the final planing?. .
