  1. Yeah, I like they way we just use Nails on everything… GREAT. I ended
up buying a Gulf Stream because they used Screws, not nails…I watched my
trailer being built…was very cool to see all the screws being used and
they were not blasting through it. There was a guy that was monitoring
everything and checking level the whole time.

  2. This video I posted continues to amaze! Why on earth would it be considered
a good business practice to show how rushed you can do a job? Any job?
Unless you're gunfighting at the OK Corral, rushing or quickness is rarely
a quality producing aspect of manufacturing. Really, shame on Jayco for
putting this trash on the market where real people are spending their money
    on it?

  3. I disagree about the "Tank" comparison. There are 2 ways to build trailers.
Light and strong or heavy and strong. The light & strong is Lance, the
heavy & strong is Nash (Northwoods Mfgs) I know people driving sedans
towing Lance TT's and the trailers are built TOUGH!

  4. Ahhh, so they are still making some Jaycos w/ aluminum framing. Still you
have to deal with the rushing work, OSB flooring, etc. Lance used to make
5th wheels. I've only ever seen one and it's probably circa 1998 (?)
Interestingly enough, Lance just started manufacturing Toy Haulers and are
rumored to be looking about getting into midsized 5th wheels within the
next 4 years. I think that with the Lamilux Fiberglass, the 2" extruded
polystyrene and the Azdel, that a Lance can last a while.

  5. Hi Cole, my Jayco has aluminium frame, so the water damage, is more like
cosmetic damage/repair, I did not see this video before I brought it. it is
no problem and cheap to repair. I have looked for Lance 5th wheeler, I can
not find, the travel trailer looks very good

  6. Jayco brand trailers are nowhere as good as Carlite or Airstream. You
should switch brands. I've seen some used Jayco trailers and even from the
outside, a 2-year-old Jayco CLEARLY shows signs of poor assembly. I don't
even want to know what could go wrong on the inside…

  7. William, had you seen this video before buying your Jayco – would you still
have bought one? Trailers like Lance take anywhere between 4 and 10 days to
construct a single truck or travel trailer!!

  8. Like I was saying, why does Jayco still use 1930's and 1940's circa
building methods? With wood studs and house insulation? Unfortunately,
those 32 trailers they build a day will probably go to women who "like the
floorplan" or the location of the "loo"- because their husbands are too
    ignorant to know any difference

  9. Totally agree, I live in England, as you can see, I have a Jayco, I'm
rebuilding the back wall now, water damage. Less than 7 hours!!! things are
    bound to be missed…

  10. These Amish and Mennonite workers are paid by the job , not by the hour. I
had a Jayco popup for several years that I was very happy with ..towed it
several thousands of miles and it held up just fine. If you want something
as strong as a tank it will weigh as much as a tank and also cost as much
as a tank. You'll also need a tank to tow it. A Jayco is no Airstream ( who
can afford them ), it's built to a price point and you get a lot for your
    buck.

  11. They, (management), (owners) squeeze you and slurp you out of your juice.
So they may live a rich life. Because they practicatlly take (steal)
everything and leave you with out a decent salary. It's a shame how
management and or owners take advantage of people in need. I rub my two
index fingers together and call these unkind poeple, shameless! Shame on
    you!

  12. I was thinking of a jay flight rd198. After this vidoe I'll be looking for
something else. Everything is rushed, nail guns being used hap hazardly.
Never saw any caulk installed on winows or doors. Sliding the cabnets down
    the slide. WTF. poor process.

  13. Interesting. But very abusive to the emloyees. The employees were rushing
and runing. Maybe they were rushing a little more faster then the normal
because they new that they were being recorded. And maybe management told
them to work extra fast. I don't know! But, it dosen't surprise me. Shame!
    Makes me very sad!

  14. They work by the job, not by the hour. The more production the bigger the
paycheck. Also most workers are Amish so carpentry/building skills are
already learned and ethics are not a problem.

are stupid for releasing your build process which shoes no quality. Dumb,
    just plain dumb

  16. My wife and I are going to an RV dealer this week to look at the Jayco and
the Lance. Of course I want the Lance especially after seeing this video.
I'm sorry, no offense but these are all wood junk. I may end up with one
because of price. I wonder how long they will last. I plan on taking mine
off road a bit, could be a huge problem. I guess you get what you pay for.
There price point is good but not if you plan on keeping your RV for the
long haul. If so, Lance may be worth the costs.

  17. a guy i parked to in a park told me a friend he knew bought a jayco
$100,000 plus caravan. He asked to have a outside unit installed to house a
tv, so they could watch it outside. The guy went to turn on the tv and
nothing happened, he was a tv installer technition so he had a proper look
and found Jayco didnt connect the power up, left it disconected.

  18. I'm a very well informed consumer. I know crap when I see it. This Jayco is
a piece of crap, plain and simple. There is no excuse for the building
practices used in this unit (AT ALL) If your opinion is that this a quality
made product, you have a lot of learning to do! The very fact that Jayco
would publish this video for public consumption is a marketing strategy
from the "Never Do This" column. Who in their right mind would brag about
such poor and rushed "workmanship" Crap crap crap!
