Yep: never underestimate the power of denial.
They even printed a booklet, with a drawing of the towers in crosshairs, in about 2000, implying they may be a target.
People just do not want to accept something like the US government getting away with the murder of thousands of American people, they think that is 100% impossible. They knew the WTC was a terrorist's target, so they think that was enough to have the motivation of that tragedy.
