  1. What do you mean about “half reps” cause theres one thing called time under
tension if you keep fibers all time under tension the probability of better
results are higher, unless you are using cables most of exercises doing
full range of motion if you go all the way down or up
you are no longer under tension resting your muscles and the bones are
taking care of all the weight , sry for my english btw.

  3. Sorry to be ignorant Scott, but what do you mean by a “natural lifter”?
Love these videos, thanks for all the tips too 😀 Also could I have some
examples that I could use for switching up my routines please? Thanks a
    lot!

  4. You give good advice and I am definitely listening to you….the way I
workout is I slowly move up the letter on weights I’m not trying to keep up
with the muscle bounded meat heads in the gym I stick to my own pace and I
have gotten pretty far and no I’m not looking like them but I think i’m
seeing a little bit more of a difference the nore I go to the gym

Hey scott always love your vids man, great shirt btw.

I’m curious how sex would affect your testosterone levels? Obviously it
does. Would it be bad to have it before going to the gym? Ie hurt energy
levels for the workout. After the gym? Or before you go to bed? Lol might
be a weird question just curious which time would hurt your gains the most
and your opinion on the matter. I’ve heard alot of athletes shouldn’t have
sex before a big game or the night before etc

  6. +ScottHermanFitness Thank you so much for your videos! I have been
training for half year and same time watching youtube fitness channels,
but yours is the only one I’m still watching. You explain things so good
that even a beginner like me can understand the most hardest things. You
are makeing sciense look like cooking a potato! I owe my gains and
    motivation to your teaching!

  8. Hi I’m a female natural athlete desperately trying to increase my lean
muscle but I realise I have a genetic potential. I have so much respect for
you speaking up for nat athletes and educating- not judging- on what is and
    isn’t possible.

disseminate quality information every single video. I knew most of these
beforehand, but it’s good to brush up on some fundamentals.

  10. Hey Scott, i used to keep with the same routine for about 4 weeks before
changing it up and i felt like it was too long, got used to it pretty quick
and so this year i started changing it every 2 weeks and i feel like this
is working for me and i think I look better as a result from this, i don’t
know man, what are your thoughts?

this video was awesome! good job Scott, hopefully more videos like this.
I’ve been lifting like you since I was 12 and am now 18, and I love to
“re-learn” some of the old things I’ve not necessarily forgotten, but that
    I’ve stopped paying attention to.

  12. Hey awesome video. Question about workout volume. Why are bodybuilding
splits so popular for natural lifters when they were popularized by guys on
steroids? Would I be better using a every other day full body routine? #Hth

  14. Subscribed. You popped up every now and then when I searched workout
videos, then I started looking for your videos in particular, and in this
video you mentioned a few things along the line I’ve been always thinking.
Your videos are mostly short and precise, and some other guys, while
entertaining, keep babbling incoherently for 15 minutes without actually
making a point. Also, I don’t know how much you weigh, and what good
results for that weigh would be, but I saw your deadlift pb videos and
there’s no way I could consider a guy who deadlifts 500+ lbs a failure
(it’s pretty funny because when I first saw your videos I though you’re all
about the looks, not actual strength – LOL, my bad). Oh and another + for
researching stuff from different sources. I’m still going to watch you with
a critical mind like I do with everything on the Internet, but yeah, you’ve
got another subscriber. So keep up the good work and remember to keep your
    ego low.

  15. As you noted your discussion with Rafael, you said the tension, or
“slingshot,” makes the reps easier. Im sure you may have heard about the
“bench press slingshots” that you wrap around both of your arms and lays
across your chest. That product is also designed to assist you to lift
heavy weight easier, which some of my friends use on occasion.

Would that be considered cheating your workout and preventing full-range of
    motion?
I have not done any extended research from what my friends have told me
from using it so i apologize for my ignorance. I tried it for one set and i
    didn’t like it haha

But anyway, I am just not sure if that affects the workout, or prevents you
from getting full potential in your gains, since it is helping with lifting
    heavier weight.

Please let me know your thoughts!

    Thanks!

Ill tell you why I have a problem, because many in the fitness industry
make being natural sound like you are more limited then you actually are
with the 3-5 lbs limit they put on tissue growth each year etc.. I dont
believe this at all, and saying this actually promotes steroid use. More is
achievable and no one really nos how much

  17. What if you don’t change the workouts every 6 weeks but keep increasing the
weight? Wouldn’t that still lead to muscle growth?

  18. Excellent video ! My dad bothers me with the same thing saying you have
been working out for almost 2 years and you don’t look that big. I try to
explain how naturally it may take more and it used to annoy me how everyone
thinks that your size has to multiply after the first month at the gym and
the grow exponentially! … My goal is to look like you even if it takes me
    years. Well said

  19. Yo Scott, my goal is to be under 100KG, when I’m at an empty stomach I
weigh around 102.5KG but I have been like this for about 6 weeks, I count
macros and get around 1600-1800 cals a day 150G+ protein 40G+ fat and
around 100G+ carbs and haven’t lost any weight, I go 6 days a week working
muscles groups twice a week with different exercises on the days, it’s
achievable but really annoys me when I step on the scale to check, but
figure looks good but the numbers don’t.

  20. Scott i have a question on #6. So.. i started 6months ago and ive made 38lb
gains. Ofc thats about 50-60% fat. went from 15% BF to 21%.

But my question is.. im doing pretty much the same routine over and over
again, sure i watch youtube videos DAILY and educate myself.. and yes i do
change up my excercises and try to find new ones to bring in from time to
time.. so im switching it up a little bit.

But i mean.. i never change the days in which im doing X muscle group, you
didnt mention it so im guessing its not 100% needed right? But does
changing when you do X exercise matter? you said it does.. but i dont get
it since ive heard that the body dont know what exercise you are doing only
knows about the ressistence. I do change it sometimes.. but i guess i can
mix it up a little bit more.

The thing is.. ive been training 6months and the noobygains are still
coming, im clean bulking now and still getting 5lb/month with the same
routine.. so its not as important for beginners to mix it up right? Our
body will grow regardless first 1-2years?

But i really wanna maximize my results.. so if u say it would help, ill do
it. I also change up my rep ranges from time to time.. but ill get more
into that after a couple of years when i get stronger since i lift verryy
    light weight atm.

  22. It’s ironic that Scott loves Link so much. Link is extremely versatile,
Scott is probably the most versatile athlete I’ve seen do a Youtube
channel, he never even referred to himself as a builder or lifter, he
always referred to himself as an athlete, that’s saying something on it’s
own. Link is probably the perfect combo of wit, strength and speed, same
with Scott. Scott has got to be one of the most well-informed athletes
relative to his strength. I just shake my head when people talk about Scott
isn’t getting any bigger; you’re missing the point if that’s what you’re
    concerned with.

  24. Hey Scott what is your opinion on nonlinear periodized program? I feel that
perhaps one of my biggest weakness is I dont often switch up my routine. I
do switch it up but usually after several months, I rather doing the same
exercises until I feel comfortable enough to mix it up. My solution is
doing nonlinear periodization, ill do a heavy low rep deadlift day for 1-2
workouts then switch to lower weight and pump out a bunch of reps for the
following workout and so forth. I cant complain about the progress just
    wondering about your opinion. Thanks!
