7 Days to Die Alpha 10.1 Gameplay Part 10 – “Building Ideas”

7 Days to Die Alpha 10.1 is pretty much DayZ and Minecraft put together and I must say, it makes for some pretty awesome gameplay in this voxel-based survival game! In Part 10 of 7 Days to Die Alpha 10.1, I start brainstorming on some possible additions to the game in regards to buildings/stores, and want to get your input on it as well! We also continue clearing out the town we left off in last time.

What is 7 Days to Die Alpha 10.1?

7 Days to Die is an open world, voxel-based, sandbox game that is a unique mash up of First Person Shooter, Survival Horror, Tower Defense and Role Playing Games combining combat, crafting, looting, mining, exploration, and character growth.

In the near future where the a third world war leaves the Earth in ruins but the worst was yet to come. Nobody knows for sure if it was the radiation, the biochemical weapons or an act of god but an unknown virus soon transforms the surviving humans into an army of the animated dead, acting as a single-minded being.

You play a survivor trapped in the savage zombie infested world of Navezgane County Arizona one of the last true Eden’s on Earth. Ironically Navezgane means “Killer of Monsters” to the Apache who have inhabited the land for centuries, and that’s pretty much what you’ll do as you fight to survive and search for the truth behind what really happened.

The World – Explore a beautiful, hand crafted, voxel world with a multitude of biomes including: wastelands, forests, snowy mountains, pine forests, plains, deserts, burn forests and radiation zones.

Points of Interest – Discover hundreds of great Points of Interests ranging from caves, campsites to cities and skyscrapers. Each and every building can be explored inside and out.

Dynamic Story Generation – The story unfolds through our “Dynamic Story Generation System” which guides the player to other survivors, better loot and undiscovered Points of Interests through story note quests.

Basic Survival – Scavenge the world for food and water maintaining and boosting health, food, stamina and hydration levels. Grow and harvest a variety of crops and hunt, track or domesticate a multitude of wildlife to live off the land.

Day and Night Game Play – Spend the day looting, mining, crafting and building up your forts defenses as light slows down and weakens the zombies. Hold up somewhere safe at night as the lunar cycle speeds up and strengthens the zombies.

Looting, Mining and Crafting – Loot and mine a multitude of items and ingredients to create hundreds of items including melee weapons, guns, traps, generators, motorized tools, motion detectors, landmines, auto-turrets, salves, potions and more using our 5×5 grid Crafting System.

Relentless and Special Enemies – Enemies will claw, jump, climb and break their way through the world in order to get to you. They can see, smell and hear the player and can work in a group. And watch out for the unique special infected enemies like the Acid Puking Hulk whose acidic vomit can melt blocks.

Block Physics and Stability – Our Physics System simulates real-time structural integrity, durability and mass. Blocks don’t float in the air nor can you build an unsound unsupported structure.

Item Quality and Food & Water Purity – Every item in the game has a quality level and degrades with use and combine items to create better items. All Food and water items have a purity level the higher the purity level. The higher the health and stamina benefits. Improve crafting to make better items.

Stealth and Distraction System – Crouch and sneak your way past enemies or throw objects to distract them. Find or craft sight, sound or smell deterrents and attractor recipes and items to exploit the sight, hearing or smell of the zombies to throw them off track.

XP and Skill Trees – Earn XP and upgrade your skills to become the ultimate Bruiser, Gun Nut, Gadget Man, Chemist or Stealth Agent. Upgrade your melee skill learning to craft better melee weapons and swing them harder & faster and even learn special finishing moves.

Solo, Cooperative and Multiplayer – Play solo, coop or multiplayer in our unique Zombie Nomad Mode be a human, a bandit or a zombie for a no rules experience.

  1. I’d like for the pimps to add chlorine to the game. Let it be a rare find.
Then my hot tub can look inviting, – instead of repugnant. Maybe they can
add special tile blocks for such a use, so that the water looks different
from the rest of the water in the game – after the chlorine is added. I
don’t know anything about how the programing works for the graphics, but
surely, – they could add something like this? (I speak for those of us who
    like to create).

  3. I want an improvised flamethrower. Gasoline and a garden sprayer you could
find in a neighborhood. Or napalm, the game needs some kind of grenade you
can lob into a horde. And now that the zombies can burn….

  4. Ohhhhhh, I love this question I have so many dumb ideas to make your heads
    bleed 🙂

First of there should be another quiet projectiles, so maybe a blow dart
gun or some throwing knifes, and you use the knifes for hand to hand it
should do just a little less damage than a bone knife.

Another idea I have is duck tape armor, this would mean you could use card
board boxes, sofa cushions, and wood armor and all you use is duck tape in
the recipe. These armor choices would of corse do less protection and not
last to long, but I think this would be good for if your stuck in a house
and you need the extra armor boosts. And while I’m on armor, I think they
should add a bullet proof riot gear zombie that only spawns in big cities
and can only be killed with hand to hand combat or blowing him up, but if
you kill him, you should get a 45% chance of him dropping a riot helmet,
bullet proof chest, bullet proof leggings, riot shield, or rare guns and
ammo, but of corse he would only drop 1 item at a time

Well sorry for the long list but those are some of my crazy ideas. Loving
the series and hope to see plenty more and many some multiplayer soon

  5. I’m wondering if ghetto rigged is offensive to anyone. I realize that
you’re of Polish decent and sometimes a phrase can become accepted so no
grief here. I once said “N***** rigged out loud in front of of a friend of
African decent when I was 13 and it’s bothered me ever since.

Rifle butt, Pipe, Sling, ammo= Single shot shotgun
    Ammo= gun powder, casings, LEAD
    Bollo= Rope and rocks
Iron fillings and bowl of water=compass..
    (trick about iron)

official buildings and a bigger city with survivors AI s.

  8. I’d love to see an improved spear using a knife, a stick, plant fibers that
you could use to hit the zeds at a distance and/or to push them back to
give you breathing room. They could also let you use a glass jar, gas, and
a rag to make a fire bomb to throw at zeds to light them on fire.

  9. While I’d like to see some more homemade weapons and items (you could make
Ghetto-rigged items that don’t last very long as aren’t as effective much
in the way the stone axe is to the real tools; weapons of course wouldn’t
last as long and have less damage, and even a larger margin of error for
aiming), what I would like to see are the living threats and passives. I
want to see bandits and gangs, maybe survivor communities and trading
posts. I really want to see more dangerous animals though, like bears. I’d
like to see additions of zoos into larger cities and all animals having a
    living and zombie counterparts.

As far as new weapons though, professional, thrown together, and ‘scrap’
tiers would be nice. Seriously, why can’t I use a short metal pipe as a
weapon? Maybe a stick would make a great temporary weapon. If I decided to
use a sharp stone as a weapon, it should be effective. I would really like
to see some sort of traveling storage. Shopping carts, wagons,
wheelbarrows, etc… Seriously, every apocalypse movie ever you see people
using shopping carts though, all you’d have to do is couple the hitbox to
the character in the front and add a visual skin to show the shopping cart
under your camera and one to show you pushing the cart. Of course moving it
would make a ton more noise. I dunno, the rate at which your inventory
fills up is crazy, and especially with the new heat maps, I feel like it’s
    time.

  10. Add more store related items like more clothes and maybe like a clothes
store along with hardware stores where you can find chainsaws, augers,
repair tools, and the much searched for nail guns. Make food to be calorie
counted like the Long Dark. And make it where you can armor and reinforce
    your weapons and clothes

  11. Spring Loaded Crossbow. Use a metal spring with the loader of the crossbow
and make use of a metal tube to shoot it out of. This would certainly
increase travel speed as well as impact and may actually improve accuracy
    to it too.

  12. Okay I’m really sorry but I just got another crazy idea, what if they
worked more into the hunting aspects of the game, so at stars hunting stor
idea you could find animal calls, bait and fishing poles so you can finally
catch fish, and maybe you can use scents to your advantage when hunting or
sneaking around. You could find jars of animal musk so they can’t since you
but infected will be attracted to you more and you can use a special tool
to cut open zombies so you can be invisible to them for an hour or so, but
if you attack them, run, or loot they will see past your sent, and the only
way to do this is you have to kill a zombie with a knife, then you use a
scalpel and gloves to cover yourself. In return this will ruin you armor
and cloths but if you don’t wear enough clothing you get infected and loose
    wellness.

I just think this would be a really cool idea and again I would like to say
I love your videos and I can’t wait to see how you and other people feel
    about this.

  13. a spear hardened in fire? it’d be pretty basic but you can make it from
    pretty much any pole
machete? can be made out of any large shard of plate metal and a bit of
    cloth for the grip
javelins? again can be made from sticks, don’t need feathers… don’t do as
much damage as a crossbow and don’t have much range, but could be a good
    alternative early on
grappling hooks for climbing? rope can be made from fiber, hook can be made
    from iron ipes
molotov cocktail: way too many oil bottles in game to use for weapon kits
scythe? can be found in farmhouses, used for harvesting grass, but can be
useful against groups of zombies, grimm reaper style

  14. Also add a lockpicking book where you can open locked doors. Also make it
where you can break or shoot the lock off. And of course be able to armor
the lock. And if they could add an alpha vehicle like a simple bicycle or
    buildable electric scooter

  15. Hi Star – great video, but you guys need to get back into multiplayer
again, that sh*t was funny 🙂
They need to add weapon upgrades such as reddots, silencers, scopes for
hunting rifle and crossbows. I really want a weapon that does massiv close
range damage and almost no ranged ex. a sawed off double barreled shotgun.
    Getto-riged guns: maybe a singleshot pipegun (10mm ammo)…

  16. I think an improvised blunderbuss that you could use small stones as
ammunition for would be a fun addition to the game lol. You would have to
have the blunderbuss in your hands and gunpowder and small stones in your
inventory to load it and would take a few seconds to load but would be a
great early game version of a short barreled shotgun… More improvised
weapons in the game would be interesting.

  17. NVM! lets see what else i can come up with.
    Throw-able land mines candy tin/car-hubcap+one landminemine(any).
    Make-shift (ghetto rigged) Spear (2 sticks 1 wood 1 iron scrap/1 metal
    strap and 3 sharp stones)
    Make-shift (ghetto rigged) Slingshot ( 2 refined grass+6/5 sticks+ 1
leather) Ammo: stones, Sharp stones, coal, Metal balls
Metal balls (5 iron scrap,5 metal straps) = 5 metal balls.

Plz tell me how i did :D

  18. A trap… use tires, a few iron pipes or some poles, knives, and a car
    battery
the pipes or poles are standing upright and with the tire on top with
knives sticking out and the battery powers the trap so the tire spins and
kills close zombies with its knives. :D

  19. Flamethrower- Super Soacker- Gasoline- Zip Lighter, held with duct tape or
string. Sounds a little badass. Maybe a Bang-stick- Shotgun shell held in
place with duct tape on a stick. Maybe Nail bombs, Gasoline bombs, Car
bombs. Idk Star, I love the pipe shotgun idea, maybe something like a
rock-it launcher from Fall Out 3. Kill zombies with teddy bears.

  20. I would love to see car you can craft and ride but you have to get a perk
and then find book on how to craft each part i think pro weapons should be
very hard to find and a lot easier to find get-orig weapons and you can
craft both i would love it if the fun pimps added a longbow

  21. I think the whole concept of the hunting store is a good one only thing is
realisticaly that would be the first stop for most people the day the
outbreak started so guns and ammo would likely be in short supply however,
i think its fair to say parts of this and that would maybe still be
there?… average joe may not have any clue how to throw parts from this
and that together to make something that shoots…

I like the idea of a profesional crossbow as well could have it be a 1 hit
kill and then nurf the current one down to a 2 hit kill or something or
have incressed bullet drop on the ghetto one and less on the pro… despite
there is no bullet drop at all im not sure if thats gonna happen lol…

As far as ‘wellness’ discusion… they could also throw in like an
intelect/ knowledge buff and reading books increases it… so say a hunting
knife book teaches you how to make it but when you make it its in kinda
crappy shape but finding another hunting knife book and reading it again
will cause your knowledge to increase and next time you make a knife itll
be a bit better? but i guess it would be pretty complex of a system to keep
track of how many of what book youve read.. just a thought… what do you
    think?

  22. hey star the just patched the game wanted to give u a heads up about
forges. now to be able to build a forge you have to find a book
called Forge Ahead. and now you can boil water in cans using a stick. pass
    this on to royal

  23. They took into the thought of ghetto rigging since you can turn hub caps,
air filters, and the candy tin cans into land mines. I would say IEDs are
the very soul of ghetto rigging.

  25. STOP CROUCHING!!! I can’t handle the crouching, it aggravates me so much.
PS, i think they should add fish, and boats, and as far as a ghetto weapon,
maybe a slingshot (a low level ranged weapon).

rare chance to find a shotgun or rifle mounted on a wall.

In the sporting goods store you should be able to find golf clubs, baseball
    bats, umpire “armor”, ect.
