  1. "If the current laws that govern federal taxes and spending do not change, the budget deficit will shrink this year to $642 billion, CBO estimates, the smallest shortfall since 2008."–CBO Updated Budget Projections: Fiscal Years 2013 to 2023

  2. Reagan increased taxes on the middle class & working class 12 times. Reagan helped usher in a new form of forced slavery in privatizing the private prison system which just happen at the same time as the war on drugs. Reagan increased the size & scope of government more than any other president. Reagan resided over the S&L scandal.

  3. Reagan's words come from the Founders "Bad Government is tyranny and tyranny is not democracy" The Founders said those words when the documents that made america were signed. Obama has stolen from the poor, he taxed the rich,he made medicaid worthless, and he armed out enemies and gave annuity to non Americans Reagan never did that he only talked to Gorbachev to end the Cold War and he cleaned up the mess in D.C Clinton destroyed it.

  5. You're telling me Obama should raise taxes instead of lower them like Reagan did 12 times, he should grow government like Reagan did, he should give amnesty to all the immigrants like Reagan did, he should sit back as hundreds of military personnel & embassy officials die, he should sell arms to Iran like Reagan did, he should flood Cocaine onto our streets like during Reagan's admin, he should side against Apartheid, and he should allow wealth distribution from the middle class to the rich.Hmm?

  11. It's easy for an american to criticize the Soviet Union. But imagine, communism lifted the lives of the poor to a good standard. There was no illiteracy. White Americans whose forefathers owned slaves and came to the new found land as land lords can criticize it. These white americans are still rich and the blacks are slowly coming up.It's 50 years and even less the 2% of the population of the USA is under the poverty line and they're mostly black. In 50 years, USSR became a world power!!

  12. 69 days after this speech the son of a friend and business associate of then Vice President George H.W. Bush shot President Reagan. 30 years later the son of a business associate of George H.W. Bush "presumably" orchestrated the largest terrorist attack in history.

  14. actually our presidents from woodrow wilson and on have a lot less power than you think. your comment is reasonable and understandable because it is a clear fact that during his administration the debt ballooned. however this has little to do with reagan and almost completely lies with the Federal Reserve. same with every president, republican or democrat. Think of all of those times Reagan spoke of shrinking government as a warning….because thats all he could really do.

  17. That term “intellectual elite” always struck me as an oxymoron since it’s the duty of all true intellectuals to stand for liberty. Elitists always fall prey to ignorance and degeneracy. Not that populists are any better. Two sides of the same token there. Two forms of collectivism – one from the top of the pyramid and one that supposedly “unifies” the social pyramid (if you buy into the propaganda).
We could use a man like Herbert Hoover again. Or Ronald Reagan. Or Gordon Liddy. Or Spartacus.

  18. Reagan fooled us. He launched us into a huge debt and a deficit crisis with unemplyment skyrocketing. So, don't blame Obama. Give me all the negative votes you want, but that's the truth. This "War on Government" he started cost us big time.
