The only problem I have regarding a cover-up is from a human nature perspective. The amount of people that would have been involved from the top down to boots on the ground one of these people would have came forward with hard evidence. I imagine the security was quite lacking for someone trying to enter after the planes hit, say someone appearing to be a fireman carrying a whack of equipment.
