You are talking about 3D Printing using resins and plastics. It is also being used for metals and eventually using stem cells, they will be able to 3D print new organs. I believe they have already 3D printed an ear in a lab. Also 3D printed a jawbone that was successfully installed in a woman to the exact specifications. It will make prosthetics and dental implants precise. They use laser sintering to cut so they can use more expensive materials for the rich.
