MYTH: Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) is a safe food additive.

http://www.gatterson.com – Curtis Gatterson
Part 1 in this series on the flavor enhancer monosodium glutamaat or MSG (E621) shows the hidden danger that is present in our food today. Thousands of products contain flavor enhancers and MSG is also disguised in many other names. MSG makes your food taste better but it is NOT safe! The harmful effects of MSG are heart problems, cancer, ADHD, autism, growth disruptions, learning and behavioral problems, hormonal imbalance, obesity, damage to the retina, etc. Many problems don’t become obvious until puberty. This is caused by poor functioning of the hormones due to exposure to MSG in the first few years of life. MSG affects many parts of the body: heart, circulation, stomach, intestines, muscles, nerves, eyes, respiration, skin, etc. Losing weight is nearly impossible if you continue to consume MSG. The consumption of MSG is, together with the consumption of trans fats and artificial sweeteners, the main cause of the present obesity epidemic. Dr. John Olney discovered in 1969 that MSG caused brain damage and obesity in mice. Governmental agencies such as the US Food & Drug Administration insist that flavor enhancers are safe. But research that shows the safety of MSG is always financed by the food industry itself….. Do your self a big favor and remove this poison out of your diet and your health will definitely improve! “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6 (KJV) “With all thy getting, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7 (KJV) More information about MSG: www.msgmyth.com www.truthinlabeling.org www.msgtruth.org HealthRanger7 http://www.youtube.com/user/HealthRanger7 obesity cancer ADHD epilepsy health alzheimer parkinson MS heart attacks migraines CBN News Natural health alternative medicine whole foods obesity nutrition obesity cancer ADHD epilepsy health CBN News aspartame ADD ALS autism hormonal imbalance overweight headaches diabetes speech insomnia anxiety allergies allergy leukemia child canceraspartame E951 flavour enhancers Multiple Sclerosis ADD ALS Lou Gehrig’s disease autism hormonal imbalance overweight headaches diabetes brain damage diarreha joint pain depression dizziness slurred speech insomnia anxiety allergies allergy leukemia child cancer.
Monosodium glutamate is one of several forms of glutamic acid found in foods, in large part because glutamic acid, being an amino acid, is pervasive in nature. Glutamic acid and its salts can also be present in a wide variety of other additives, including hydrolyzed vegetable proteins, autolyzed yeast, hydrolyzed yeast, yeast extract, soy extracts, and protein isolate, which must be labeled with these common and usual names. Since 1998, these cannot be included in the term “spices and flavorings”. The food additives disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate, which are ribonucleotides, are usually used in synergy with monosodium glutamate-containing ingredients.

  1. Glutamate excites our brain cells and it is good to help us learn for
example, process known as Long Term Potential (LTP). So Glutamate is
healthy in normal doses, the problem arises when we have too much
Glutamate, it starts the process of Excitotoxicity which leads to Apoptosis
(cell death). During cell death, more Glutamate from that cell is released
    which creates a domino effect.
according to my research , Glutamate is much likely to have caused my
seizures as a Teenager; both from learning and malnutrition which have
raised my Glutamate to too high Levels. I guess some people are more
    sensitive than others.

  2. being a doctor i shall clearly say that msg is not the reason for obesity.
the main cause for obesity is over eating, lack of excercise, use of
sweets, use of fatty food along with bread and the cold foods. the msg is
only a flavor which enhances the taste of any food(sugar made foods are not
concidered). the use of msg only causes good taste hence a person eats more
    than a without msg.

  3. How old is this video? The current science (2013) shows that MSG isn’t a
problem, unless you are sensitive to it – and people are sensitive to a LOT
of stuff, tomatoes, meats, nuts, dairy, potatoes. Doesn’t mean the food is
necessarily “toxic”. And obesity in rats means NOTHING to human health.
This is pseudoscience at it’s best – stick to the real science please.

  4. Seven people addicted to excitotoxins 🙂 “Salt is worse for you”? “Lawl”?
“This vid is full of s***”? After reading such eloquent and solid evidence
presented by such eminent YT scholars, heck, I’m convinced MSG is safe!
Cigarrete smoking was touted as “healthy” by doctors in the 50’s. Even the
Flintstones advertised smokes. Now they tout MSG, aspartame etc (with law$
made and re$earch paid by the same companies that $ell those poisons). The
more things change the more they stay the same.

spans and they dont have an obesity problem. MSG doesnt make ppl fat, all
the sugar and refined flour products are what is making america fat.

  6. I think its too easy to blame all these things on msg. Its a life time of
glutony and not taking care of your body. Americans are obese because they
consume more than any country in the world. Sugar is way worste for you
    than msg.
