  1. Had the worst 6 month of my life and im certain its msg thats causing it.
Im under 3 different specialists because been in hellish pain round my
abdonimal area mainly st night time. Last nights bag of crisps cause
unbelievable amount of pain. Been diagnosed with cfs and fm. Slowly found
its food thats causing it narrowed down to msg. Doctors thought I had
cancer and gave me morphine and other very strong pills, had camera's up me
    and down but found nothing

  2. if you go to a fast food restaurant and you see the workers eating. They do
not eat the sauce that they serve us in chicken with broccoli

  3. MSG is king its only bad for you if you eat too much, which is what MSG
makes you do, it makes you want more…mainly cos its that good …. its
safer than salt and i love it

  4. so does table salt, too much salt can make your body dehydrate faster(you
can actually die from drinking too much sea water)….MSG too has an effect
if you use too much of it, but saying it makes someone dizzy, etc without
any statistical evidence is just nonsense, I'm currently living in
south-east Asia (Malaysia) and I can call bullshit on many of these false
accusation Go and ask your Doctor for a much better info.

  5. Sugar is a pure carbohydrate which has no protein (and therefore no amino
acids for that matter, glutamate included). About the salt, you're kind of
right. MSG is a salt but, not all salt is MSG (monosodium glutamate ≠
    sodium chloride).

  6. Honestly, it's up to how you eat as an individual. MSG is harmless in small
normal doses. The 1 very important point I never got out of this video is
the definition of "TOO MUCH" or "OVERDOSAGE". For the time being, the only
value we have for that point is the oral lethal dosage[15 to 18 g/kg body
weight in rats and mice respectively, five times greater than the LD50 of
salt (3 g/kg in rats)], Source: Wiki. Oh toward 7:05 and after he mentions
High Concentration. What value is that? No numbers?

  7. Doctors don't receive training in nutrition or specialized training in
neuroscience so, their professional opinion on MSG is going to be more
related to their personal concerns with it. I can see you're struggling
with confirmation bias as you're only justifying the consumption of a
neurotoxin that is known to cause serious brain degeneration, especially
with prolonged consumption. There is a difference between real asian food
and americanized asian food–don't justify one with the other.

  8. This is such BS, most of these things were seen in rats, there is no hard
evidence besides the anecdotal that there are "side effects". I make all my
(mostly Asian) meals from scratch, adding half a teaspoon of MSG to a meal
doesn't seem to make me or my family fat, or stupid and my kid is one of
the best students in her school. You know what else made those nuggets
light up the brain? Salt, sugars, fats and textures. Yeah, but it's all the
msg… This is food hippy bullshit.

mean to hurt anyones feelings but GOD DAMB! MSG'S ARE BAD! Its not very
hard to see people, wake up!

  10. what about organic soy products ? i didnt hear you you specify between
commercial soy products and organic ones. obviously organic would be better
because it has no artificial flavors, its completely natural but i didnt
hear you state that …so i assume all soy products are bad unless i decide
to do further research on it. I drink a lot of organic soy milk ..and i
know soy milk in that natural form carries a lot of health benefits and
prevents osteoporosis and heart disease etc.

  11. MSG is probably the most overused chemical sweetener. I don't see why they
just use sugar, it's more or less the same thing with less effects.

  12. So why is it that one of the things that people with the neurovascular
disease erythromelagia consistently react to is msg? In this disease there
are a variety of environmental triggers and sensitivities trigger episodes
of extreme burning pain in the extremities as well as hyperemic and
inflamed blood vessels and very red skin. I have this disease which is
exceptionally rare and msg causes an episode of these symptoms every time.
The argument msg as it naturally occurs in food and the man made

  13. Sorry if there was a confusion when it came to my statement, obviously
sugar, salt and msg are not the same thing, and yeah im aware msg contains
salt, when i said "they are the same thing" i mean they are both food
additives that make food taste better and create an addiction for our
bodies, but thank you for pointing that out so i could clear up the
    confusion!

  14. you have to appreciate a placebo study is not the way to analyze something
like MSG, it needs to be done with observable science (brain scans, animal
studies involving dissection etc) these type of studies paint a bad picture
of MSG in high concentration, but are always ignored by its defenders and
they always bring out a placebo study to back up their stance. Placebo
studies where never originally meant to be used in areas such as this.

  15. See, this is what I'm talking about… when I ask a westerner about Palm
oil, they say "Palm Oil" is BAD oil. and Olive Oil is healthy Oil, Like I
said, both oil are BAD oil with little nutritional value, why waste your
money? you know why they say Palm oil is BAD oil? because the US government
gave bad PR to Palm oil because they want Americans to consume American
Peanut oil similarly, that is also why American Coca-Cola doesn't use "Cane
Sugar", instead they use "Corn Syrup"….get it

  16. I wish that for every controversial scientific topic there was a concisely
written essay approved unanimously by every professional in the field,
preferably in the form of a brochure composed with 4th grade sentence
structure. Such literature fits perfectly your plebeian ideal of what
science is. Conversely, science in academia is a constant debate. What I
just told you came from $350 in used neuroscience textbooks that I read.
It's also on Wikipedia for free. Kill your TV and read a damn book.

  17. Aspartate is the same thing as aspartic acid it's one of the 20 essential
amino acids. Aspartame is a methylester of aspartic acid and phenylalanine
which is essentially just 2 amino acids linked together. By the way
everything in this video is basically bullshit. Oh except for the don't eat
too much fast food that's good advice. This guy clearly has no
understanding of biochemistry or the regulatory pathways involved in
controlling concentrations of these amino acids in the cell.

  18. First off i really dont give a crap if you eat msg or not, 2nd i was just
saying that just because u eat it, its not gonna instantly damage you for
life…im just saying if youre going to eat it, eat it in moderation, and
that many food additives have a negative impact on you but people fear it
like its going to make you pass out in seconds of having it

  19. This pointless debating back and fourth is going nowhere. Whether or not
free glutamate cause brain damage or not, we all know it's an additional
food additive that isn't needed. Making excuses because the government says
it's safe doesn't make it okay. Everyone knows when they're stuffing their
face with garbage. Also it's been PROVEN that MSG makes you eat more. Free
glutamate's in Mushrooms and some tomatoes are probably fine, but most
glutamate's are consumed in junk food.

  20. There's no way my symptoms from MSG were just a placebo effect because a
placebo effect requires expectation, apprehension or at least thoughts
concerning MSG & symptoms. Yet that was totally absent in my cases. At
first I actually thought I developed an allergy to milk when my yogurt
would always give me a severe headache, fatigue, sleepiness and cognitive
problems. But then after I ate another brand that didn't give me any
symptoms, I compared the ingredient list, the only difference? MSG.
