Farrakhan is wrong on some technical points. What the Fed does is buy US treasuries (or other assets, like MBS) with money typed in a computer (or printed). It is false to claim the Income Tax pays for the interest payments on US Gov debt, because all the interest paid on the debt owned by the Fed (which does do to the Fed), is remitted back to the treasury (minus the admin costs of the Fed). The Federal Reserve is a horrible system, yes, but we should criticize it for the right reasons.
