That's supposed to be a surf sinker sorry not sure skier. Make sure you have the rod loaded so when the shark pulls the weight out of sand it sets the hook and his first run can be long so you need a lot of line. Email me if you want fishingforheroes@gmail.com for more info

Ya penn reels large j hooks 10' leaders and a stout rod. 80lbs braid nothing less. Weights were custom made that were like a sure skier on steroids be ready to paddle your bait out at least 150 yards before dropping on the other side of sand bar. Good luck we will be down aug for the weekend to jerk so more lips.

Prob close to 150-200 yards you want to be on the other side of the sandbar where is begins to drop.
